Why Our Breeding & Development Program
Has Been Kept Private
Over the years, many people have asked why we share only parts of our breeding and puppy-raising program publicly. The truth is simple: our methods, our observations, and the systems we have developed are the result of decades of dedication, research, refinement, and lived experience with this extraordinary breed.
What we do at Ukeevea is not a template copied from a textbook — it is a deeply considered, carefully crafted program shaped by years of hands-on work with our dogs and line. Every element has been personally developed, tested, and perfected to support the highest levels of health, temperament, structure, and emotional resilience.
Unfortunately, in the dog world — whether ethical or not — there are breeders who will readily adopt another kennel’s hard-earned ideas, methods, or philosophies and present them as their own. This is especially common when a breeding program consistently produces quality dogs or demonstrates success in both health and temperament.
For years, we remained private simply to protect the integrity of our work, our intellectual investment, and the unique developmental system we have built. Our approach is not commercial, and it has never been designed for quick replication. It is the result of a long-standing commitment to improvement, honesty, and preservation of the Siberian Husky.
By keeping much of our program private, we ensured:
-
That our work remained authentic, not diluted
-
That our lines and methods could continue to develop with intention
-
That our puppies benefited from a program built from real knowledge, not borrowed ideas
-
That our reputation was based on genuine results, not trends
Only now, with the maturity of our lines and the stability of our methods, do we feel confident sharing more openly about how we raise, evaluate, and develop our puppies. We share them not for others to duplicate, but so our families can understand the level of care, purpose, and thought behind each Ukeevea Siberian.
Our program remains unique to us — shaped by experience, strengthened by passion, and guided by a lifelong devotion to the breed. What we choose to share today comes from a place of transparency and pride, not replication. The heart of Ukeevea will always remain in the work we do behind the scenes, thoughtfully and intentionally, for the wellbeing and future of our dogs.
Ukeevea Puppy Evaluation & Development Program
Raising confident, healthy, well-adjusted Siberian Huskies begins long before they open their eyes.
At Ukeevea Siberian Huskies, our commitment to raising exceptional puppies begins from the moment they are born. We utilise a combination of internationally recognised, science-based protocols along with several specialised, Ukeevea-developed systems to support each puppy’s physical, emotional, and behavioural development. These methods allow us to understand every puppy as an individual and help us carefully match each one with the most suitable home.
Our evaluation system includes:
-
Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)
-
Early Scent Introduction (ESI)
-
Ukeevea Enhanced Cognitive Enrichment Protocol (ECEP)
-
Ukeevea Guided Social Imprinting & Adaptive Handling System (G-SIAH)
-
Ukeevea Ethological Temperament Mapping (ETM)
-
Puppy Culture Developmental Evaluation
-
Volhard Puppy Aptitude Testing
-
4-6-8 Week Structural Development Tracking
-
Daily Observation and Temperament Tracking
Each step provides insight into a puppy’s developing temperament, physical structure, and emotional resilience — helping us match each puppy with the perfect home.
Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)
From Day 3 to Day 16, our puppies participate in ENS exercises originally developed for military working dogs. These gentle stimulation activities strengthen neurological pathways and support long-term resilience.
ENS promotes:
-
Stronger cardiovascular function
-
Improved stress tolerance
-
Faster recovery from startle
-
Enhanced problem-solving ability
-
Increased adaptability and emotional stability
ENS helps create confident, robust puppies ready for the world.
Early Scent Introduction (ESI)
During the same early window, our puppies are introduced to a new scent each day to support their cognitive and sensory development.
ESI enhances:
-
Scenting ability
-
Curiosity and environmental awareness
-
Confidence in novelty
-
Cognitive engagement and early learning
Together, ENS and ESI provide our puppies with a powerful developmental foundation.
Ukeevea Enhanced Cognitive Enrichment Protocol (ECEP)
Proprietary to Ukeevea
ECEP expands upon traditional ENS/ESI by introducing structured novelty, gentle age-appropriate challenges, and sensory variation to encourage early cognitive development.
ECEP supports:
-
Cognitive resilience
-
Calm curiosity in new environments
-
Strong neural pathway development
-
Early problem-solving behaviours
-
Emotional balance and self-assurance
This protocol helps produce puppies who are mentally sharp, emotionally even, and highly adaptable.
Ukeevea Guided Social Imprinting & Adaptive Handling System (G-SIAH)
Proprietary to Ukeevea
Our G-SIAH system focuses on selective early handling and controlled positive stress experiences tailored to each puppy’s natural temperament.
G-SIAH develops:
-
Trust and secure human bonding
-
Healthy stress resilience
-
Calm acceptance of handling and grooming
-
Balanced social behaviour
-
Confidence during novelty or mild challenge
This adaptive method ensures puppies leave us emotionally grounded and ready to bond deeply with their new families.
Ukeevea Ethological Temperament Mapping (ETM)
Proprietary to Ukeevea
ETM is our personalised temperament profiling system based on canine ethology — the study of natural instinctive behaviour.
ETM evaluates:
-
Social and bonding style
-
Environmental vs. human focus
-
Prey drive & energy level
-
Coping style and stress recovery
-
Confidence and adaptability
-
Exploration and problem-solving tendencies
This holistic behavioural map helps us match each puppy with the home environment where they will truly thrive.
Puppy Culture Developmental Evaluations
Throughout their first eight weeks, our puppies are raised using the Puppy Culture program, an internationally respected system for early socialisation and emotional conditioning.
Through structured enrichment, we observe key behavioural milestones, including:
-
Startle and recovery
-
Problem-solving and frustration tolerance
-
Human social engagement
-
Confidence in new environments
-
Sensory and environmental soundness
These evaluations allow us to understand how each puppy navigates challenges, explores new situations, and interacts with people.
Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test (PAT)
At approximately 7 weeks, our puppies participate in the Volhard PAT, a well-established temperament assessment that offers insight into a puppy’s innate tendencies before training influences behaviour.
The PAT helps identify:
-
Confidence levels
-
Trainability and biddability
-
Sensitivity to sound, sight, and touch
-
Prey or retrieve drive
-
Dominance/submission tendencies
-
Stress resilience
Combining Volhard with Puppy Culture gives us a complete behavioural picture.
4–6–8 Week Structural Development Tracking
While the traditional eight-week evaluation remains the industry standard, at Ukeevea we believe a deeper, more accurate understanding of a puppy’s structure comes from observing them at multiple stages of early development.
4 Weeks — Early Balance Assessment
At four weeks, we look at natural angulation, proportion, and early balance before growth spurts begin to influence structure.
6 Weeks — Growth Pattern Evaluation
At six weeks, puppies undergo their first major developmental shift. This stage reveals how well they carry their balance through growth and helps us identify puppies likely to maintain correct proportions as they mature.
8 Weeks — Formal Structural & Conformation Evaluation
At eight weeks, puppies briefly reflect their future adult structure. This is when we complete our formal evaluation based on the ANKC Siberian Husky standard.
Why We Use All Three
Tracking puppies at 4, 6, and 8 weeks gives us a reliable, holistic view of their development. It ensures that puppies placed in companion homes are sound and that show prospects are chosen with accuracy and confidence.
Daily Observation & Temperament Tracking
Throughout the puppies’ time with us, we track individual behaviour, energy levels, play styles, and emerging traits. These daily records allow us to make thoughtful, informed decisions about each puppy’s future home.
Creating the Perfect Match
By integrating all elements of our program — early neurological work, structured socialisation, proprietary Ukeevea methods, behavioural testing, conformation assessment, and ongoing observation — we gain a multi-dimensional understanding of each puppy.
This allows us to thoughtfully match puppies with families whose lifestyle, experience, and expectations align naturally with the puppy’s temperament, structure, and needs.
While our owners may share preferences such as colour or gender, our priority is always ensuring the right puppy goes to the right home — where they will flourish as a beloved companion, future show dog, or active sport partner.
